I have been a licensed substance abuse counselor since 1997, certified then by the Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, and in 2004 became a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor having begun clinical services and career in 1990. I have worked with adolescents and adults in inpatient/outpatient and therapeutic milieu settings. Focusing upon substance abuse counseling, anger management, sexual abuse and perpetration, oppositional defiant disorder, depression, bipolar, and post-traumatic stress disorder; utilizing reality therapy, motivational interviewing, following the cognitive-behavioral model. I have experience in supervising staff on a clinical and business management level. This has included the creation and implementation of clinical training to support continuity of care and general staff training to support maintaining company standards of accreditation. I have facilitated assessments and screenings for DUI, revocation/screenings, child custody cases, and worked extensively with the Bureau of Prisons, and Arizona Drug Court. I have also worked extensively with a variety of funding sources within Arizona for the behavioral health field, including Magellan/Value Options, Mercy Maricopa (Regional Behavioral Health Authority), Pinal-Gila Behavioral Health, Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health, DCS, ADJC, AOC, JPO, Federal and State Probation Departments.
