Why did you choose a career with The River Source?
I started my career at The River Source because I wanted to be a part of a treatment center that provided effective and lasting treatment. I am an alumni of the program so I knew that the program works and that it was the home to many amazing people. The reason I’ve stayed with The River Source is because there is amazing growth potential here both personally and professionally.
What was the interview process like?
After being encouraged by current staff members to apply for a position I was given several phone interviews and an in-person interview.
How would you describe the training process?
The training experience was thorough and very “hands-on”. I spent the first week working alongside experienced members of the team. There was also a company handbook that I was given, as well as weekly, and monthly ongoing trainings with the clinical director and my department supervisor. The ongoing guidance was extremely helpful.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favorite part of the job is that I get to have a crucial role in improving the experience of both our clients and my staff. I get to be a part of a program that genuinely cares about the wellbeing of their clients and am able to help our organization grow and reach more people in need.
How would you describe the culture and work environment?
The culture and environment here is like a family. We are all unified around the goal of improving the lives of the clients that are seeking help. Everyone I work with is dedicated to the mission of providing amazing, compassionate, and effective treatment.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of working at The River Source?
The most rewarding part of working here is watching our clients find healing and reclaim their lives.
How has The River Source helped you develop your professional skills?
The River Source hired me at as an entry level floor technician and since then I’ve become a director at the company. The River Source has given me an amazing opportunity to learn, cross-train, expand my skillset, and work my way up to a leadership position.
What’s one memorable moment you've had since working here?
One of my favorite moments here at The River Source was being offered a promotion to begin learning the community outreach position. I was filled with gratitude when my hard work was recognized in the form of better opportunity. Starting out as a client, and then being given a chance to represent our program to the community was a truly amazing and surreal moment.
