Why did you choose a career with The River Source?
I had experience being a client at The River Source before becoming an employee, which showed me first-hand just how much The River Source staff truly cares about their clients. When I was in treatment I felt as though every staff member, regardless of job title, credentials, and place in the company, truly cared about my needs. So, once I was in recovery and had the desire to work in substance abuse treatment, I knew that the best place to do so was at The River Source.
What was the interview process like?
I interviewed with staff who had been employed at The River Source for many years and really understood The River Source culture and dedication to its clients. I felt like the interview process was very thorough and the staff that was interviewing me and others for the position were dedicated to finding the right fit and hire that would best service the clients.
How would you describe the training process?
I felt supported throughout the training experience. Everyone was helpful and very welcoming. I have never been afraid to ask for help from any staff member and have always felt like The River Source staff was more of a second family. This was helpful in empowering me do my job well, know my specific job duties, ask for help and guidance, and feel supported in all aspects of my role.
How would you describe the culture and work environment?
The River Source has always felt like a second family. Everyone here supports each other, wants everyone to thrive and excel in their roles, and truly wants the best for their clients. When there is a cohesive togetherness among staff it makes coming to work feel exciting, and it makes you feel comfortable and confident in your role.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of working at The River Source?
In my specific position, I get the privilege of following the client from their intake at detox all the way through their graduate from IOP. I get to see the changes in their lives and all of the ways that The River Source helps them through their recovery.
How has The River Source helped you develop your professional skills?
I have learned so much here over the years. The River Source is a company that supports their employees and promotes from within. Because of The River Source believing in me I truly feel that I have found my perfect career and love my job.
What potential is there for career growth at The River Source?
I have been able to move from being originally hired on as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), to Case Manager, to IOP Office Administrator, to currently working in the Insurance Department as a Utilization Review and Billing Specialist. I know people here who have found different roles that they’re passionate about after they were hired into one role, so you can definitely grow here.
What’s one memorable moment you've had since working here?
I can’t name one specific instance, but I can say that I have never laughed harder than with some of my co-workers. I have met some of the best people in my life working with The River Source and truly enjoy coming to work every day.
Why should someone ultimately consider a career at The River Source?
The River Source has been around for a long time and is a staple in the Arizona treatment industry. People respect The River Source and have had great experiences either as clients or staff. Having The River Source on your resume will greatly improve your career opportunities, and there are also always opportunities for growth within the actual company. It has a great culture, dedication to its clients and their recovery, and the most supportive environment I personally have experienced in any job anywhere.
