Picking up the phone can be one of the hardest things to do when facing a drug or alcohol addiction. Though a simple action, calling a treatment center symbolizes so much. It means you are admitting there is a problem beyond your control. It means that you are ready to get yourself or a loved one help. It means that you are committed to the process of seeking treatment. It means you are taking the first step to recovery.
The thing is, many people are scared to call a treatment center because they don’t know what to expect. Will you be forced to attend the program? Will the people on the other end judge you or your family? Is the information you discuss kept confidential?
Let’s discuss some of the things that you can expect when calling The River Source.
Questions We Might Ask
The purpose of our initial phone call is to gather as much information as we need to determine that we are the right fit for you or a loved one.
The River Source offers a holistic drug treatment program that includes naturopathic detox for adults age 18 and over. Aside from our residential program, we also have outpatient treatment options.
Our intention is not to pry but instead feel confident that we can help you or a loved one if you do choose us for your care. The main questions we will ask will have to do with the type of substance being abused, how long it has been abused for and whether you or a loved one has been treated in the past.
We will also want to know when the last use was, and when you would like to begin treatment. Some callers say they are ready right away, while others are in the information stage. Either is fine, but do know that we can accommodate you if you want to start treatment immediately.
What to Expect During the Call
It’s important to know that when you call The River Source, there is no obligation to accept treatment. Whether it’s 3 pm or 3 am, we’re here for you in your time of need. Often it’s when people are most desperate that they pick up the phone.
